marriage is a civil right- happy gay pride day!

boston may 17 2004.  i post again these pictures taken with a hastily purchased disposable film camera on the day gay marriage became legal in the united states.  last week the supreme court strengthened the right of same sex couples to marry.

i took these outside  boston city hall as the first legally affianced gay couples in u s history, here and throughout the state, lined up to get their marriage licenses.

how austerity has failed.

it's failed in america according to krugman. it's failed in europe according to wells. and, thanks to maison, it's failed in harlem.

we've been on our own austerity campaign recently but couldn't resist brunch 2 blocks away and this really great bloody mary!
